Plastics to fuel
As part of our legislation compliant e-waste recycling solution, R&R offers the Plastics to fuel process.
Our Environment Agency licensed Authorised Treatment Facility is capable of processing up to 1000Kg of mixed waste plastic per hour.
R&R has a mutually exclusive contract with Singapore based Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, to supply
crushed IT and Electronic waste from it's Authorised Treatment Facility in Biggleswade.

How it works
- R&R use a Cimelia's developed and supplied crusher that can process up to 1000Kg of mixed waste plastic per hour.
- The crushed material is shipped to Singapore where it is treated for the extraction of ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals.
- The plastic element of the waste is fed into a reactor and melted at 350 deg C
- A catalyst is added at controlled intervals, whereby a process called depolymerisation starts
- The catalyst cracks the polymers producing three by-products, Diesel, Liquid Petroleum Gas and Coke
- The process takes an initial three hours to start up, after which waste plastic can be fed continuously into the reactor all day.
Important Facts and Figures
- 0% of products crushed by R&R will end up in landfill
- The Cimelia/Enviro-hub plant will be able to take up to 100 tonnes of waste plastic a day during phase 1
- At 30,000 tonnes a year the plant is expected to produce 20 million litres of diesel, four to five million kg of gas and 1,500 tonnes of coke
- The plant will operate 330 days a year
