Under the Directive for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) plans are in place to reduce the current amount of waste that is created from computers when they are destroyed - the current figures for this kind of waste annually is estimated to be in excess of 126,000 tons from computers, PCs, laptops, systems and networks in the UK alone.
