What is Data Destruction?

Data destruction is the complete removal of data from all types of computer media, so that it can under no circumstances be accessed at a later date. This process ensures that the data is physically and irretrievably removed from media including hard drives, tape drives, and CDs.

- In house Data Cleansing Facility

R&R Data Managed Services boasts a UK data cleansing facility capable of erasing data on up to 5000 hard drives per week.

All data on working hard drives is wiped to comply with DOD 5220.22 standard and non functioning hard drives are degaussed to CESG standard.

The ability to be able to wipe hard drives in volume is becoming a resource in demand as companies with large data centres resell or redeploy large volumes of storage with confidential data present. Reconfiguration and testing of servers and RAID is also offered as part of the overall service.

R&R DMS can provide full destruction of data on your site, of almost any media, followed by complete recycling if required. A certificate of data destruction will be issued followed by a certificate for recycling, which includes all hard disk serial numbers. This can be used to check against your asset management system for full traceability. For very sensitive sites (e.g. NHS, MoD, Banks, Central Government) we have a unique service to comply with security regulations on site.

CSIA claims tested logo R&R Data Managed Services Ltd has been awarded the CCT Mark for its "On Site" Secure Data Destruction service for data on magnetic media to comply with the CESG lower level degaussing standard.

CCT Mark is a Cabinet office Assurance scheme run through CSIA. Information available through www.cabinet-office.gov.uk/csia. The CCT Mark is a government quality mark for information systems products and services which, through accredited independent testing, provides the public sector with confidence in the claims made by Vendors about the functionality of their information security products and services.

The "On Site" Secure Data Destruction service enables compliance with the statutory duty to securely remove classified data from obsolete and surplus IT equipment and media.

There is an existing and ever growing requirement for Assured Data Destruction of data held on all types of magnetic media, tape, hard drive, floppy disk, zip and jazz, audio and video tape whilst still within the customers secure environment, R&R's "On Site" Data Destruction service provides this secure compliant service.

RoHS WEEE Compliant Logo R&R's mobile Data Destruction unit can process data bearing media on the customer site, with representation if required, and the customer will receive a "Certificate of Destruction " listing serial numbers of all items degaussed and also a "Certificate of Recycling" to confirm compliant disposal.

With all our services products are tracked throughout the whole process and a Certificate of Destruction is provided. This enables a solid audit trail and compliance to the Data Protection Act of 1988.

- Green Recycling

Green Recycling Logo Media can be safely recycled in an environmentally approved way to comply with statutory disposal requirements in accordance with the WEEE directive. This process is also tracked and a Certificate of recycling is issued once complete.
